Marcelo Amorim (Goiânia, Brazil, 1977) collects and appropriates images so as to produce mainly drawings and paintings. From images taken from private collections, manuals and old publications, textbooks, and social media, the artist releases some of these elements, particularities, gestures, portraits, often from a seemingly distant past.
Having been awarded at Salão Nacional de Artes de Itajaí (2012), his work is part of the institutional collections of Fundação Cultural de Itajaí and of Instituto Figueiredo Ferraz. The artist lives and works in São Paulo.
